Epworth HealthCare Board President Rod Fitzroy today announced the appointment of Dr Lachlan Henderson to the position of Group Chief Executive, commencing early 2017.
Mr Fitzroy said that Dr Henderson (pictured) brings a wealth of experience across a range of health care roles that he has executed with distinction over the past 25 years.
“Dr Henderson has more than 25 years’ experience in the health care industry, the last 15 in Executive roles in the private ‘not for profit’, ‘for profit’ and public sectors. His broad experience encompasses working as a medical practitioner and GP with over a decade of full-time private practice.
“Since 2013 he has been CEO of St John of God Subiaco and Executive Director, Perth Northern Hospitals (Midland Public and Private, Mt Lawley and Wembley Day Surgery). He has successfully run the largest and most complex region of the St John of God Health Care, with multi-site and multi-disciplinary responsibility, including more than 1,200 beds, around 4,500 staff and budgets exceeding $600 million,” Mr Fitzroy said.
“Dr Henderson’s focus on quality patient care and staff satisfaction have been critical to his success in these roles, and will complement Epworth’s continuing commitment to excellence in patient care and the patient experience, and developing our strong education and research capabilities.
“Dr Henderson will work with Epworth as we further develop the future strategic journey and capitalise on recent major investments, including our new Epworth Geelong hospital, the completion of the Richmond Lee Wing and the refurbishment of Epworth Freemasons.”
Mr Fitzroy said the appointment follows an extensive global search by Spencer Stuart and a rigorous selection process by the Epworth Board of Management.
